Matting / Dull Appearance
Problem Description:
The paint loses its expected gloss, appearing matte or dull.
Possible Causes:
• Over-Drying or Rapid Drying: High temperature or low humidity can cause uneven spreading, resulting in a dull finish.
• Insufficient Number of Coats: Thin applications may not achieve desired gloss levels.
• Thinner Selection: Fast-evaporating thinners can reduce gloss.
Solutions and Precautions:
• Control Application Conditions: Maintain ambient temperature between 18–24°C and humidity between 45–65%.
• Increase Number of Coats: Apply multiple coats for a more uniform and glossy surface.
• Ensure Even Application: Apply paint smoothly; maintain correct spray distance if using spray equipment.
• Choose Appropriate Thinners: Prefer slower-evaporating thinners.
