Kayalar Kimya’s Solar Energy Investment in Elazığ
Kayalar Kimya, one of Turkey’s leading chemical companies, is implementing a solar power plant (SPP) investment with a power generation capacity of 6 MWp in Elazığ, within the framework of its sustainability vision.
Kayalar Kimya is commencing the SPP project in Elazığ as part of its sustainability goals. The facility, which will have an annual electricity generation capacity of 9,753,740 kWh, will enable the company to meet its entire energy need from renewable sources. The facility will also contribute environmentally and economically to the Elazığ region.
A Strong Step Towards Green Transformation
The facility, which will be implemented by Rhofa Energy for Kayalar Kimya, will prevent 6,106 tons of greenhouse gas emissions when operational, creating an environmental benefit equivalent to taking 5,030 cars out of traffic. When the project is completed, it will provide electricity generation equivalent to meeting the electricity needs of 6,096 households and will create an environmental impact equivalent to bringing 271,414 trees back to nature.
Speaking about the project at the signing ceremony held at Kayalar Kimya’s Tuzla campus on October 22, Kayalar Kimya Chairman of the Board, Ersin Kenan Kayalar, said, “Our solar power plant in Elazığ is a strategic step taken in line with Kayalar Kimya’s sustainable production goals. The proliferation of renewable energy sources in industry is the guarantee of both our environmental responsibility and our long-term competitiveness.” Board Member Tolga Kayalar gave the message, “As Kayalar Kimya, our investments in energy efficiency and sustainability are aimed at shaping not just today, but also the future. Our solar power plant in Elazığ is a concrete reflection of this vision.”
